BAMC patients attend Army/Navy game

The Captain Scott Corwin Foundation was proud to have as their guests 18 patients from the Brooke Army Medical Center at the 2007 Army/Navy game December 1st in Baltimore Maryland. The soldiers boarded their Southwest Airlines flight Friday morning and arrived in Baltimore around noon. A snack of hamburgers and hot dogs awaited them at the Airport Marriott, where they stayed for the weekend. It was off to the ESPN Zone in the Inner Harbor for a buffet dinner. The BAMC patients were guests of the West Point Society of Annapolis' pre-game tailgate at Camden Yards Saturday morning.

Enjoying the food and refreshments with the more than 2,000 Association of Graduates of West Point attending the party, the soldiers were greeted by a surprise visit by Brigadier General Patrick Finnegan, Dean of the Academic Board at West Point. Also suprising the BAMC guests was Mr. Pete Dawkins, 1958 Heisman Award winner at Army. Perhaps the highlight of the weekend for the wounded warriors was being introduced individually to the entire tailgate crowd where they received a well-deserved rousing ovation.

It was off to M & T Bank Stadium to watch the Black Knights fall again to the Midshipmen. Dinner after the game, and a Sunday brunch before they left rounded out the weekend. The Foundation would like to thank Mr. David Smith of the Airport Marriot for providing a wonderful stay, Mr. Bill Taylor of the West Point Society of Annapolis for being such a gracious host, Carol Bush from West Point for all of your help, SSGT Krsten Dickerson for providing her leadership during the weekend and Michele Kyle and everyone at Southwest Airlines for treating our guests with such warmth and respect.

The Foundation would like to thank our guests for making our weekend such an enjoyable experience. We are so proud of each and every one of you, and we were honored to provide this weekend for you.
